Hey all, I’m not totally gone!
Still enjoying time off a bit, but I am working hard on making a lot of sprite sheets needed for the upcoming season. Season 3 is leaning even more heavy into the drama and character struggle that Season 2 was tending toward, so there are not as many fight scenes… as the strife is internal! Still will be some, of course, but just letting you know the tone coming up.
Fight scenes are the most lengthy thing to produce when I get to them, but the first episode of season 3 in particular has a ton of work associated with it for other reasons, that will be made apparent when you see it.
However, the big reason why this particular hiatus is going to be so long is not only because of a seasonal break, but also once I finished uploading season 2, that marked the first time ever that I had run out my page stockpile. Back when I was a teenager, I uploaded comics basically as soon as I finished them, but I can’t do that now when I have so many other obligations and demands on my time! Stockpile buffer is the way I operate now, and I don’t feel comfortable restarting uploads until I have a large buffer.
Another thing is the fact that I’ve recently had a schedule change in my life, with my kids going to a new school, I’ve had to adjust my sleep schedule, and thus late night comic work sessions aren’t nearly as extensive now. I haven’t quite fully adjusted to this yet… I don’t want to sound like I’m giving excuses, but there’s the facts.
Comic progress is progressing, so there’s that. But as much as I want to just lock in and get this stockpile piled up, I realize that I can’t just leave you guys radio silence for too long. Especially patreons who graciously still haven’t left me during hiatus! So, I’m planning to upload a few more upcoming shots and behind-the-scenes things on patreon, as well as a new mini project that will be up right here on the main blog:
“Klaus’ Journal” — Written from the point of view of Klaus Warrington, talking about his thoughts on recent occurrences, what his plans are for the clan moving forward, and definitely lots of foreshadowing for the season to come! Be sure to look out for these once he gets them written and uploaded.
In addition to that, I need to do some website and hosting maintenance, but I know yous don’t want to hear about that. So I’ll sign off now. Have a good one!
